Guardian Shadow Back story
Born to a traveling merchant, Guardian Shadow traveled with his father until the age of 10. While traversing the wastes his caravan was attacked by bandits. Although his family was killed, he was spared. The bandits were just on hard times and needed to survive but took Guardian with them either out of pity or regret. For the next 4 years he lived as a bandit taught to repair but wasn't trusted with raids until he was 14. When raids successful he was treated as family but it wasn't what he wanted resulting in no cutie mark. For 2 years Guardian, hit caravans aiding his group's ill-gotten gain. Within the year his group started to turn in after eating from a raiders meat locker. Guardian has witness how brutal raiders were and what they do to the bodies and at that moment it enough was enough. On the next raid he planned to warn the next hit and fight off his captors to aid them. When the dust settled he was free and upon receiving thanks Guardian noticed his cutie mark at the age of 16 1/2, a helm and a cloak a figured protecting ponies was his talent. So he wandered the wasteland working as a bodyguard for hire.
You have survived in the ruins of Manehattin; its raider population wasn't excessive and for a pony traveling alone it wasn't a complete death trap. You have been helping as you can with the refuge citizens of Friendship City scrounging food and supplies. For the last few days a zebra, who has to be the oldest zebra or pony you have ever seen, has been watching you with intensity. Other than a gold pendant in the shape of a sun with 8 rays of light coming off of it set with a most a most astonishing yellow gem that glitters he isn't wearing anything but sunglasses. It looks as if that a stiff breeze would knock him over he's so withered with age, little more than skin and bone. On the third day of watching you he finally approaches in the early dawn light. His voice is raspy with age but clear enough as he asks plainly, "What price would you pay young buck to make right your past sins?"
